In 1980, under the inspired tutelage of Abdully Mecklai and Subhash Roy, we pioneered inter-bank money broking for financial products with the setting up of a joint venture with Mecklai & Mecklai Financial Services of Mumbai and Subhash Roy & Company of Calcutta.

The fledgling company commenced business under license from the central bank, which certifies and overseas the activities of all brokers in Sri Lanka.

In 2004, the company set up another joint venture with Infinity Holdings (Pvt) Limited.

As the architect of Sri Lanka's first money-broking company, BMR has continued to lead the way. Ours is the only company which underwrites an ongoing staff training process which ensures the constant availability of trained and talented staff, not only for ourselves, but for all firms in the field. In fact, the heads of most money broking companies were trained at BMR !

The future will see us maintaining our lead position, sustaining only the highest of standards and creating innovative financial products for a healthy and burgeoning financial market.
