Ceylon Quartz was incorporated in 1991, in collaboration with Nihon Morutalun Company, Japan, who, in 1996, sold their shares to Tatsumori Limited, Japan & Singapore. Tatsumori then supplied us with the necessary machinery and technology for the production of high quality processed quartz powder.
Ceylon Quartz was the first pioneering project to process vein quartz for export approved by the Sri Lanka Board of Investment.
Our purpose is to produce and export pulverized quartz powder (Si02); raw material used as a filler (for epoxy/resin) in the manufacture of silicon chips and electronic components.
Rock quartz is mined and purchased locally.
We market to Malaysia and Japan, exclusively.
Both Plant and human components have grown substantially as demand for our products increased. Our staff is highly trained and skilled.
