NComputing Appoints Bartleet Electronics as Distributor in Sri Lanka

Company expands product delivery channel to satisfy growing worldwide demand
REDWOOD CITY, CALIF., October 22 2008 (PressReleasePoint) – NComputing, the leading provider of desktop virtualization appliances, has appointed Bartleet Electronics Limited to distribute its products in Sri Lanka. This agreement is the most recent in NComputing’s push to expand its partner and channel network globally in response to growing demand for affordable computing. Bartleet was selected because of their long history in introducing new technologies to the region and extensive experience with IT solutions which positioned them uniquely well for bringing NComputing’s affordable and game-changing solution to the island nation. The partnership is an acknowledgment that NComputing shared-computing solutions are ideal for Sri Lankan schools and businesses.
“The need to reduce the acquisition cost of IT infrastructure and also to keep ongoing costs low is acute in Sri Lanka,” said Manish Sharma, vice-president of sales (Asia Pacific) of NComputing. “The market is rapidly adopting NComputing solutions because it is the only proven way to do both. Bartleet knows the local markets very well and they carry complementary products, which means that they can deliver a complete solution.”
The NComputing solution is based on a simple fact: today’s PCs are so powerful that the vast majority of applications only use a small fraction of its capacity. NComputing’s desktop virtualization software and hardware tap this unused capacity so that multiple users can simultaneously share it. To date, NComputing has sold more than one million seats worldwide.
“We’ve specialized in cost-effective IT solutions for over 25 years,” said Omar Lebbé, general manager of Bartleet. “We deliver customer-driven solutions at competitive prices. And we back them with unmatched support. NComputing is the solution we have been looking for to help organizations save money and electricity. This is the next moving force in our emerging markets. We are very proud to be working with NComputing in Sri Lanka.”

Australian financial firm in tie-up with Bartleet Group

What has largely been considered a ‘Western’ service – the provision of financial planning for society at large – is about to penetrate Sri Lanka through one of the largest networks of accountants, financial advisers and life insurance brokers in Australia, Professional Investment Services, in association with the Bartleet Group.
“There is a burgeoning middle class right throughout South East Asia. The big concern is that as more money is available, you will always get people who will try to rip people off” said Managing Director Professional Investment Services Grahamme Evans, explaining the underlying cause behind the increasing popularity of wealth planning in the Asian subcontinent. Evans went on to describe Sri Lanka as not only a ‘gateway’ to the growing Indian market, but as a great prospect in itself.
